Hello, this is Miho Matias.

Profile

Based in Los Angeles, USA. Active as a Reiki provider and medical aroma advisor primarily in Japan and the United States.

Since 2018, I have been involved in integrated medicine combining Western medicine and natural complementary therapies in medical settings such as nursing homes, hospices, cancer wards and intensive care units of general hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and non-profit organizations for cancer patients in the United States, healing patients, caregivers, nurses, and doctors. I also provide medical aromatherapy instruction and distance Reiki healing to people around the world, as well as in-person Reiki and medical aromatherapy healing to individual clients.

I give lectures in Japan, the US, and Europe about the current state of integrative medicine—a combination of Western medicine and natural complementary therapies—in American healthcare settings. In 2024, I gave lectures in Paris and Amsterdam in June, in Japan in October, and in Los Angeles in December, together with Julian Shamroir, author of "The Door to Oneness," and other healthcare professionals.

In February 2025, I will give lectures on integrative medicine in New York, then in various locations across the United States, in May in Amsterdam, France, and in June in Japan.

We offer online (coming soon) and in-person courses for obtaining certifications in Usui Reiki, Medical Reiki, Medical Aromatherapy, and Pet Medical Aromatherapy.

I want people to know that they "can choose" how they care for their own mind, body, and soul. I want to eliminate the injustice caused by ignorance and stop people from suffering.

Complementary Therapies That Support Western Medicine

Integrative medicine is an approach increasingly used in healthcare settings in the United States. It combines conventional modern medicine with complementary therapies, bringing together different approaches to help patients improve their overall condition and quality of life.

In the United States, complementary therapies may include Reiki, medical aromatherapy, nutritional supplements, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, music therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and other natural or holistic practices that have not traditionally been considered part of conventional medicine.

Some of these approaches can be practiced as part of everyday self-care and preventive wellness, while others are provided by trained practitioners or recommended by physicians as a way to complement and support conventional medical treatment.

At the hospices and hospitals where I serve as a Reiki Provider and Medical Aromatherapy Advisor, physicians sometimes recommend Reiki to patients receiving medical treatment or palliative care, as well as to their caregivers, by simply asking:

“Would you like to try Reiki?”

One of the many reasons healthcare professionals recommend complementary therapies is that patients who are able to relax through Reiki may find it easier to cope with treatment, while caregivers who feel supported and cared for themselves may be better able to maintain healthy and compassionate relationships with the patients they care for.

Complementary therapies are not limited to patients and caregivers. They are also being introduced to nurses, social workers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

For example, at a nonprofit organization where I serve as a distance Reiki provider supporting people with cancer, Reiki has also been taught to nurses working at the University of Colorado Hospital. The nurses incorporate Reiki into their own self-care, with the aim of supporting their well-being and helping reduce burnout and staff turnover.

We believe that caring for healthcare professionals is extremely important. When those providing care are physically or emotionally exhausted, it becomes more difficult for patients to receive the best possible care.

One physician once said to me while I was providing Reiki to a patient:

“We’ll leave to you what we cannot do.”

Working in this kind of healthcare environment in the United States, I provide complementary therapies such as Reiki and medical aromatherapy to support areas that conventional Western medicine may not always fully address, including helping patients cope with pain, treatment-related side effects, emotional distress, and the care of the mind and spirit.

What patients receiving Reiki during cancer treatment have told me:

“Reiki works much better for me than morphine.”

“I’m addicted to Reiki.”

“I can’t breathe without Reiki.”

But one comment, in particular, has stayed deeply in my heart:

“It isn’t fair that there are people who don’t know about Reiki. Please make Reiki better known so that even one more person can be freed from suffering.”

Those words made me determined to let as many people as possible know that complementary therapies such as Reiki and medical aromatherapy are available as another choice.

I want people to know that everyone has the ability to choose how they care for their own body, mind, and spirit.

That belief inspired me to begin this work, and today I am deeply grateful to be sharing this journey with many wonderful colleagues and like-minded practitioners.

Beyond healthcare settings, Reiki and medical aromatherapy can support not only our own self-care, but also the well-being of the people we love, our families, and the health of the body, mind, and spirit. I believe these practices will continue to grow and develop as meaningful professional fields as well.

Through learning Reiki and medical aromatherapy, we may deepen our connection with our own soul and Higher Self, and learn to live more naturally in harmony with the flow of the universe.

As more people begin to live in this way, the love within each individual can spread from person to person, helping us create a society filled with greater joy, compassion, and connection.

Would you like to join us in creating and experiencing that kind of world together?

Medical aromatherapy and Reiki for healthcare professionals and palliative care in LA

I practice integrative medicine in Los Angeles, combining Western medicine and natural therapies. As a Reiki provider and medical aromatherapy advisor in hospices and hospitals, I support patients in areas where Western medicine cannot reach, such as alleviating pain and side effects, and providing care for their mind and soul.

VITAS Healthcare's hospice and LIFESPARK Cancer Resources' remote Reiki services are spreading the value of complementary therapies in medical settings, prioritizing the care of not only patients but also caregivers and healthcare professionals.

Oneness support activities in Japan, America, and Europe

Together with Julian Shamroir, author of "The Door to Oneness," we are conducting speaking engagements in Japan, the United States, and Europe.

In 2024, she will give lectures in Paris, Amsterdam, Japan, and Los Angeles, and in 2025, she has lectures scheduled in New York, various locations in the United States, France, Amsterdam, and Japan.

Under the theme of "Living in Reality While Connected to the Universe," we hold workshops that allow participants to experience the fusion of the Age of Vibration and the real world. In New York, a multidimensional workshop titled "Living in the Age of Vibration: How to Face and Care for the End of Life" featured a three-way collaboration with Sayoko Lale, who provided an introduction to whirling dance (Sufi dance). We are creating spaces where people can experience the fusion of oneness, cosmic consciousness, the Age of Vibration, and the real world, and we are also disseminating useful information.

Instructor of Reiki and medical aromatherapy

We offer online and in-person courses for obtaining certifications in Usui Reiki, Medical Reiki, Medical Aromatherapy, and Pet Medical Aromatherapy.

Drawing on experience in the American healthcare field, I will impart the knowledge and skills necessary for self-care, caring for family and loved ones, and working as a professional.

Lectures that include practical examples of complementary therapies in medical settings have received high praise from students. The instructor also has experience teaching Reiki to nurses at the University of Colorado Hospital, contributing to a reduction in healthcare worker turnover.

Based on the philosophy that people can "choose" how they care for their own mind, body, and soul, we aim to create a society overflowing with love and joy, and we share the wisdom of Reiki and aromatherapy with people all over the world.

Individual sessions of medical aromatherapy and Reiki

We provide personalized care tailored to each individual's physical and mental condition.

In medical aromatherapy, we carefully select essential oils based on scientific evidence, and we offer guidance on the fundamentals of essential oils, including what essential oils are and what medical-grade aroma oils are, as well as suggestions on how to use them according to your symptoms and goals.

In Reiki sessions, I utilize my experience as a Usui & Kundalini Reiki Master to regulate energy flow and support deep relaxation and the activation of self-healing abilities.

Drawing on techniques and knowledge honed in the American medical field, individual sessions address stress reduction, immune system enhancement, and pain relief. Reiki sessions can also be conducted remotely, and clients worldwide have praised the noticeable physical and mental changes they experience.

We provide an environment where even first-timers can feel at ease.
